Two prominent rock formations that rise out of the commons to the west led to considering the house as a metaphorical third rock formation.  The composition shingle and earth-covered wedge-shaped roof sweeps up out of the meadow achieving visual harmony with the horizontal character of the setting. Not only has the house become a part of the meadow, the meadow has become a part of the house.
