This addition/remodel to an existing Class K structure had a program calling for “something wonderful” on a restricted budget. The existing structure is conventionally upgraded and a new, truncated, cube-like living space is added as a contrasting counterpoint. Scaled down timber framing is used in a straightforward manner on the interior and corrugated metal roofing and cladding cover the exterior to create an economical, distinctive, and “wonderful” addition.
